Who we are

LinguaHub ("we", "us") provides AI-generated language quizzes and homework for private tutors. This policy explains what data we handle and why. If you have questions, contact us at maxcreighton.work@gmail.com.

Who our users are

Our direct customers are tutors, who create an account and pay a subscription. Tutors add students and generate quizzes for them. Students complete quizzes via a shared link and do not create accounts.

What we collect

• Tutor account data: email address and access code, plan tier, and payment status. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store them.
• Student data entered by the tutor: a student's name, level, native and target language, and optional notes the tutor adds. Please only enter what you need.
• Quiz content & results: the quizzes generated, and each student's answers, scores and completion times.
• Lesson materials: any lesson plans or documents a tutor uploads to ground quiz generation.
• Speech (Studio, optional): if speaking questions are used, a short audio clip is sent for pronunciation scoring and is not retained after scoring.
• Basic technical data: standard server logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

• To generate quizzes, mark them, and show tutors results and progress analysis.
• To manage subscriptions, send access codes, and provide support.
• To keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use student data for advertising.

Cloud storage & sync

To let you pick up your work on any device, browser or network, your LinguaHub workspace — your students, classes, generated quizzes, results and profile settings — is saved to secure cloud storage (hosted by Upstash and Netlify) and associated with your access code. A copy is also cached in your browser so the app keeps working offline; the two are kept in sync when you are online.

Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections and held by reputable infrastructure providers. Because anyone signed in with your access code can view and sync your workspace, keeping your access code confidential is your responsibility. We are not responsible for access, loss, or changes to data resulting from a shared, lost, or compromised access code, or from use of the service on a device you do not control.

We keep reasonable operational backups to run the service, but you are responsible for retaining your own records of anything you need to keep. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that stored data will be error-free or permanently available, and we are not liable for any loss or corruption of data.

Where data is processed

LinguaHub uses global infrastructure and AI providers, so your data (including data you enter about students) may be stored and processed on servers located outside your country, including outside the EEA and Australia. By using the service you consent to this international processing. We only use providers we consider reputable and who apply appropriate safeguards.

AI processing

Quiz text is generated by a third-party AI provider (Groq). Lesson content and topic descriptions you submit are sent to that provider to generate questions. Do not paste sensitive personal information into lesson descriptions.

Sub-processors

We rely on a small number of trusted providers: Netlify (hosting), Upstash (database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Groq (AI generation), and optionally Google and Microsoft Azure (Studio speech features). Each processes data only to provide its service.

Children's data

Some students are children. Tutors are responsible for having the appropriate permission from a parent or guardian before adding a child's details or sharing quiz links. We collect only what a tutor enters and never market to students.

Data retention

We keep account and results data for as long as the tutor's account is active. A tutor can request deletion of their account and associated student data at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

Tutors (and, on request via their tutor, students or their guardians) can ask to access, correct, or delete their data. Email maxcreighton.work@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Information is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, access to stored data is restricted, and we rely on established providers with their own security programmes (Netlify, Upstash, Stripe, Resend, Groq).

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the service at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LinguaHub is not liable for any unauthorised access, breach, or loss arising from factors outside our reasonable control, including the acts of third-party providers, or from your own handling of access codes and devices.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LinguaHub and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
